Somatic Movement for Neck pain & tension

The thinking behind somatic movement is ‘why does the brain hold some muscles in chronic states of tension?’ Somatic movements are a series of movements that help to tell the brain that it is ok to ‘let go’. I have been practicing these for the past few months and have found them to be so so helpful in reducing my neck and jaw tension. You can do them anywhere and everyone I teach them to is amazed by how much more range of movement they can get in a few minutes of doing them!
